One of the best values for food in the airport! A decent fresh burger, a nice polish hot off the grill and fresh fries all under the price of just a burger at other places. Friendly employees as well make it a great overall experience!
I am a flight attendant from Chicago but based elsewhere. Whenever I'm going through midway I stop at this eatery for a Chicago staple, ITALIAN SAUSAGE! If the older gentleman in charge is on the grill, his sense of customer service is amazing. The sausage is cooked through and always presented with superb quality. When the third generation, 30/40 somethings, are on the grill, they are so hurried to finish and lolligag that the sausages are sometimes still pink inside; not raw pink but not completely browned through and through. After two of these visits, the older man in charge was on the grill. I asked that my sausage be grilled well done. He of course exhibited his usual great customer service and left my sausage on the grill a little longer. Perfectly cooked through and through. I go there today, Jan 17, and my sure fire older gentleman is not there. The 30/40 somethings are running the store. I am completely disappointed but hungry. I ask when I order to have it well done. The response is, it's already cooked. I replied ask him to put it back on the grill. No response, but two minutes later I receive a previously wrapped Italian sausage that did not just come off the grill. I really want to eat and not fight so I said nothing. I sit to eat my sausage and guess what, a slit on one side that shows cooked through. As I bit into it, I notice it's ONLY cooked through one side. It's still light pink through to other side. These 30/40 somethings have no idea what legacy they are ruining or what it really takes to be in a successful business. Right now they're living off the back of the first generation. Customer service is not their forte! Congregating around the grill talking about NOTHIN is more important. SO VERY DISAPPOINTED !
I stopped at Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago Midway Airport before my flight home, and it hit the spot! The service was friendly and efficient, and the Polish sausage with fried onions was exactly what I needed—a quick, tasty, and satisfying meal. Great airport dining experience!
